Michelle joined the Maryland Broadband Cooperative as the Controller in March 2010. As the Controller, Michelle is responsible for the monthly financial statements, assisting in setting and meeting financial goals of the cooperative, preparing the annual budget, ensuring that internal controls over financial transactions are adequate, tracking grants, overseeing the annual audit and overseeing accounting staff. Prior to joining the Maryland Broadband Cooperative team, Michelle worked in Public Accounting at TGM Group, LLC where she mainly performed financial statement audits.
Michelle was raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and graduated from Salisbury University in May 2004, with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Management Information Systems and again in May of 2005 earning her MBA. Michelle became a CPA in December 2007, and has been practicing in Salisbury since that time.
Michelle is very active in the community and serves as the Personal and Professional Development Co-Chair of the Young Professionals of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore as the interim Treasurer, and on the Board of Directors of Harbor Pointe Community Association Inc. as the Treasurer.
