Pat joined the Maryland Broadband Cooperative as its first employee in 2006. As President & CEO, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cooperative’s operations, communications with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (Board officers), as well as strategic planning for the future of Maryland Broadband. Pat began his career in the electrical field serving as an apprentice and working his way up to earning his Master Electrician License. Prior to joining Maryland Broadband, Pat spent 7 years with Verizon where he saw the business from both the field service delivery perspective as a systems technician and from a management perspective when he oversaw dispatching for highly secure special services throughout all of Maryland. Pat also had the honor of serving as one of the liaisons between Verizon and the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) for any trips made to Maryland by the President or Vice President
From the start of Pat’s tenure as President & CEO, he has been dedicated to growing the business by focusing on the Cooperative’s mission of bringing world class high-speed internet service to Rural Maryland. In just 5 years, Pat has grown the cooperative staff to 10, increased the membership to near 70, and built over 500 miles of fiber with network assets of nearly $20 million.
Pat also firmly believes that Maryland Broadband should give back to the community which created it. Investing in community activities and organizations including local Little Leagues, Volunteer Fire Departments, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Chambers of Commerce, Junior Achievement and many other worthy causes in the rural portions of Maryland.
Pat is a lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore and lives in Quantico. Pat is an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter. He is a member of the Maryland State Chamber of Commerce and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. Pat and his wife Peggy have a son, Cody, who is very active in the program Baseball Factory sponsored by Under Armour.
