Tyler joined the Maryland Broadband Cooperative in 2011 as Vice President for Public Affairs where he is responsible for Community, Government, and Media relations for the cooperative along with marketing and communications. Prior to joining MdBC, Tyler’s career focused on public service in the State of Maryland. He proudly served as an aide to House Appropriations Chairman Norm Conway and Maryland Senate President Mike Miller, as well as Special Assistant to U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski and District Director for former Congressman Frank M. Kratovil, Jr.
Tyler is a lifelong “Marylander” having been born and raised in Hagerstown before moving to the Eastern Shore in 2001. There he attended Salisbury University where he received his B.A. in Political Science and Communications and his M.Ed. in Education Policy. Tyler currently serves on the Legislative Committee of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board, is a former Commissioner on the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, and is a past board member of the Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
